ST MARTIN & ST MAARTEN IT IS A LAND

THE LORD OUR GOD PERSONALLY CARES FOR

THE EYES OF THE LORD OUR GOD ARE CON­TINUALLY UPON IT,

DAY AFTER DAY

FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TO THE END OF THE YEAR

NOW THAT WE BEGIN THIS YEAR,

MAY THE LORD MAKE IT SO THAT ALL THE PAST

SHALL SEEM TO BE AS NOTHING COMPARED WITH

THAT WHICH IS TO COME.

MAY OUR LORD BY HIS SPIRIT BRING YOU

AND ME TO A HIGH PITCH OF PRAYERFULNESS,

AND THEN LET US CONTINUE IN PRAYER

FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TO THE END OF THE YEAR

MAY GOD BRING YOU AND ME

TO A HIGH DE­GREE OF GENEROSITY

MAY WE BE ALWAYS GIVING

FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TO THE END OF THE YEAR,

MAY WE BE ALWAYS ACTIVE, ALWAYS HELPFUL

     ALWAYS SPIRITUAL, ALWAYS HOPEFUL

MAY OUR GRACIOUS GOD DEAL WITH US

FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR TO THE END OF THE YEAR

THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD and saviour

MAY WE SEEK TO INCREASE IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

AND IN LIKENESS TO JESUS CHRIST

SO THAT EVERY DAY WE MAY BE BETTER

AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR

I WOULD URGE EACH ONE OF YOU TO SAY:

1.       I WILL MAKE THIS YEAR BETTER THAN THE LAST

2.     I WILL PRAY MORE,

3.     I WILL BELIEVE MORE,

4.     I WILL LOVE MORE,

5.     I WILL WORK MORE,

6.     I WILL GIVE MORE

7.     AND Be MORE like CHRIST

Promise Yourself

To think only of the best, to work only for the best,

and to expect only the best

To forget the mistakes of the past,

and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To give so much times to the improvement of yourself

that you have no times to criticize others
